Breastfeeding is good for the figure. For mother and child.

Mother's milk is so valuable because it is the only nourishment that is perfectly attuned to the needs of the baby. Children who are breast-fed are ill less frequently as the milk contains carbohydrates and vitamins from the mother. Furthermore, breast milk promotes the growth of bifidobacteria in the intestines which ensure that the baby can digest the valuable components in the milk. A positive effect on the metabolic programming and adult health has been proven. Studies conducted on 10,000 school children have shown that a breast-feeding period of more than six months reduces the risk of overweight in adulthood by 30%.

Breastfeeding is very important. It is highly beneficial for the child's speech development as it promotes oral motor skills and muscle strength. Several studies indicate that breast-fed children have an IQ of up to seven points higher than bottle-fed babies.
The mother also benefits from breastfeeding, which is the most natural way to lose weight because milk production uses so much energy. More specifically, nursing mothers burn 650 kcal more per day than non-nursing mothers. The only problem for many women is the uncertainty about whether her child has taken in enough nourishment. This problem can be easily solved with a scale from seca.

A baby should gain this much weight:
  • Healthy newborns that are breast-fed exclusively lose up to 7% of their birth weight in the first three days of life.
  • After 14 days they once again reach their birth weight.
  • Thereafter the baby should gain at least 20 grams per day up to the age of eight weeks.
